In Student Ministry at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church we encourage teenagers to CONNECT.  We believe it is essential that students  make several vital CONNECTions:  with God, with People, with Ministry, and with the Lost.  Every person needs an intimate and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Also, students  need friends, family and other people to help them grow in their daily lives, physically, socially and spiritually.  Finally,  Jesus commanded His followers to be His hands and feet, going and  showing His love all around the world.  We think it’s important that students begin to fulfill that commandment in their own lives by connecting with ministry.

We have intentionally developed avenues in which a student  can successfully make these CONNECTions.  The first environment is  Wednesday nights.  We have created a worship experience  and small group setting  just for teenagers.  The music, environment, activities and messages are  designed to help teenagers with one thing: developing a dynamic relationship God.

On Sunday morning our focus is on CONNECTing with  others in small-group Bible Study. These groups are made up of students of the same gender and same grade. We have adults that teach and invest in the lives of teenagers during this time.

We have opportunities for students to CONNECT with a variety of ministry teams that highlight different learning styles and talents.  Ministry Teams meet on Sunday afternoons from 4pm to 6pm.  These teams work together in designing their worship experiences and in serving others throughout the church body. Our students also have chances to serve other church members during seasonal events like FITS and Fall Festival.

Throughout our ministry, our students are reminded of the overarching drive of the Great Commission.  We believe students come into contact with many on a daily basis, that need to connect with God through Jesus Christ.  So our hope for our students is that they connect with the Lost and invite them into an incredible journey with Jesus.
