Children

The goal of the Children’s Ministry of Clarke-Venable is to provide safe, fun, and biblically-based opportunities for children in Grades 1-5 for growing as disciples of Jesus Christ. We recognize that parents are the spiritual leaders who are responsible for the spiritual growth of their children. We appreciate the opportunity and take seriously the opportunity to come alongside parents as they train their children.

Sunday School 

We believe that every child should be significantly and continually involved in Sunday School. Clarke-Venable utilizes Explore the Bible curriculum for every age. Children meet on the second floor of the Education Building for “Sunday School.”  Sunday School today, in its many expressions, is still the most vital tool in our churches for hearing, learning, and mobilizing the people of God to live out His Word. Sunday mornings from 9:45 until 10:45 is the time when all ages meet for Bible study.

Kid’s Choirs

We believe that every child should be significantly and continually involved in one of our Kids Choirs. Choirs meet each Wednesday evening at 6:15 pm and generally follows the school calendar.

Engaged for Grades 1-3

Engaged choir builds on the foundations taught in preschool of praising God through our music, while giving kids more opportunities to lead in worship. Engaged will sing several times throughout the year including Clarke-Venable’s annual Fall Festival, The Joy of Christmas, and ongoing services.

Empowered for Grades 4-5

Empowered choir gives kids the opportunity to use their gifts to serve God by leading in worship, while emphasizing the importance of living a life of worship. Kids will be encouraged to let their love for God inside their heart flow out into everyday life. Empowered will lead in worship throughout the year in ongoing services.  They also will sing at the annual Fall Festival and in The Joy of Christmas presentation. The Inside Out Choir will present a spring musical in May with music, drama, and choreography.

KidZone

KidZone consists of fun activities, large group Bible story, worship time, and small group Bible study time. At KidZone, children participate in Kids Worship For Life curriculum. It is all part of the plan to help a child believe three key things:

  1. I need to know God,
  2. I need to obey my parents, and
  3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

KidZone is offered on Sunday nights and generally follows the school calendar for children Grades 1-5.
