INVITATION FROM IMB

Our International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries, Jeff and Liesa, have invited us to join a life-changing mission to share the Gospel in the beautiful state of Oaxaca, Mexico.  The region is home to a diverse array of cultures, languages, and traditions.   More importantly, the people of Oaxaca are in need of hearing the transformative message of Jesus Christ.  

If you choose to embark on this journey, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local community, build relationships, and share the love of God with those who may have never heard it before.  Vibrant cities and rural villages make up the landscape in Oaxaca.  The Oaxacan people extend warm hospitality in a rich heritage and a very old culture.   You may have traveled on mission engagements before or you could be a first time traveler.  Either way,  you will be able to use your unique gifts and talents to make a lasting impact.  

Jeff’s invitation to us is: “Will you come and join us in Oaxaca, Mexico as we share the Gospel and bring the hope of Jesus to those who need it most?”

PASSPORT

You must have a United States Passport to travel outside of the United States.  The simplest way to obtain a passport is to go to the Chancery Clerk’s Office in the Newton County Courthouse.  They have the forms you need and can take the essential photo that must be sent with the application.  They will send it for you as well.  

SENTINEL TRAINING

Sentinel Training is designed to prepare you to safely travel outside the US.  Sentinel Training is a video driven experience.  You do not have to complete the training in one sitting.  Once you create an account you can log back in and pick up where you left off.  Completion of this course makes you eligible to receive Mississippi Baptist Mission Scholarship money.  The Cost of Sentinel Training is $45.00.  Click here to see the instructions.  On the instruction page you will find a link to start Sentinel Training.  Sentinel Training is mandatory for participation in CVBC Mission engagements.  So, go ahead and get started.  

COST

The cost for the November 14-21, 2026 trip was $1,850.00 now $1,750.00.

We have already paid the deposit on twelve (12) airline seats for the November 2026 trip.  Which means we have a high degree of certainty that the cost of the trip will not exceed the amount posted above.  Also, please know that we will be requesting assistance through our Southern Baptist Convention network for all of our trips.  And, we will have at least one fundraiser to lower the cost of the trip.   But, it is important to let us know soon so that we can prepare well.
